JOE PETROSINO COLPISCE ANCORA…

Continua a realizzare grandi azioni il mitico Joe Petrosino attraverso il pronipote Nino Melito Petrosino: è sempre la sua influenza a tenere le fila di tanti rapporti della Provincia di Salerno anche oltreoceano.
Sono passati pochi giorni da quando a Padula si è svolta la celebrazione del premio internazionale “Joe Petrosino”, in occasione del quale ospite d’onore è stato il Capo della Polizia di New York, Sez. Anticrimine, Anthony J. Izzo, che ha ricevuto anche la cittadinanza onoraria dal comune di Oliveto Citra, per le sue origini familiari.
Il pronipote si è reso promotore, questa volta, anche di un incontro tra l’Assessore Provinciale Adriano Bellacosa, con delega ai Rapporti Istituzionali e con le Comunità Estere, e Pasquale Carucci, Presidente della Federazione delle Associazioni della Campania USA, che vanta 57 club negli Stati Uniti, con più di 60.000 iscritti.
Si tratta della più importante associazione campana nel mondo.
Il Presidente Carucci e l’Assessore Bellacosa, già ospite della Federazione a New York lo scorso anno, in occasione del “Petrosino Day”, si sono incontrati a Padula, dove ha sede la famosa casa museo del celeberrimo Joe Petrosino, che ancora oggi rappresenta uno dei simboli più forti della legalità, della giustizia e della “buona” emigrazione.
“L’amministrazione della Provincia di Salerno, guidata dal Presidente Cirielli”, ha affermato Bellacosa, “intende attuare azioni mirate alla valorizzazione, alla diffusione e al mantenimento della cultura salernitana nel mondo, dalla lingua alla storia, dalla tradizione culinaria agli usi e costumi”.

JOE PETROSINO STRIKES BACK ...

The legendary Joe Petrosino continues to achieve great deeds through his great nephew Nino Melito Petrosino: it is always his influence which holds the strings of many relationships in the Province of Salerno and also overseas.
Few days have passed since the celebrations took place in Padula of the international prize "Joe Petrosino", at which the guest of honor was the Chief of Police of New York, Anthony J. Izzo, who also received an honorary citizenship from the town of Oliveto Citra, for his family origins.
The great nephew has become the promoter, this time, of a meeting between Adriano Bellacosa, the Provincial Alderman for Institutional Relationships and Foreign Communities, and Pasquale Carucci, President of the Federation of the Associations of Campania USA, which boasts 57 clubs in the United States, with over 60,000 members.
This is the largest association for Campania in the world.
The President Carucci and Alderman Bellacosa, former guest of the Federation in New York last year, during the "PetrosinoDay”, met in Padula, home of the famous museum of the well known Joe Petrosino, who still represents one of the strongest symbols of law, justice and "good" emigration.

Salerno alla BIT: gemellaggio con la Prefettura greca di Lesbo

Il rappresentante della Prefettura greca di Lesbo ha visitato lo stand della Provincia di Salerno, cogliendo l'occasione per evidenziare l'esistenza nell'arcipelago greco di castelli della stessa epoca del Castello Arechi.

L'Assessore Bellacosa ha, a sua volta, visitato lo stand della delegazione greca, annunciando la possibilità di effettuare il gemellaggio tra i due Paesi, viste le origini affini.

The representative of the Greek Prefecture of Lesbos visited the stand of the Province of Salerno, seizing the opportunity to highlight the existence in the Greek archipelago of castles from the same timezone of the Castello Arechi.

ARTE PRESEPIALE DEL SALERNITANO ALLA BIT

Presso lo stand della Provincia di Salerno, allestito alla BIT di Milano, il maestro di arte presepiale, Alfonso Pepe, espone una miniatura in legno, rivestita di sughero, “abitata” da statuette in terracotta, lavorate a mano, vestite con abiti in pura seta.

Spicca, tra le altre, la statuetta della Madonna delle Galline, che si festeggia a Pagani (Sa) la prima domenica dopo Pasqua.




NATIVITY ART AT THE STAND OF THE PROVINCE OF SALERNO AT THE BIT OF MILAN
