Si è svolto ieri a Palazzo Sant’Agostino il primo incontro istituzionale tra il Presidente della Provincia, Edmondo Cirielli e l’Europarlamentare Erminia Mazzoni, sul tema “Sviluppo territoriale e Fondi Europei”.
Alla presenza dei tanti amministratori locali presenti, l’On. Mazzoni ha reso noto di aver proposto Salerno per l’istituzione del Segretariato Generale Euromed.
“Il Mezzogiorno non può essere tagliato fuori dalle politiche di sviluppo finanziate dall’UE - ha affermato l’On. Mazzoni - soprattutto Salerno, che ha una naturale vocazione per ospitare una realtà del genere e che ha bisogno di un’attenzione diversa.
Attraverso un’azione trasversale legata alla nuova struttura Euromed si può puntare ad un maggior coinvolgimento dei Paesi della sponda Sud nel processo decisionale”.
Il Presidente Cirielli ha sottolineato il suo impegno per «attivare le giuste sinergie, affinché la Provincia di Salerno possa svolgere la sua funzione di area vasta della Campania e affinché anche le aree periferiche della provincia, come il Cilento ed il Vallo di Diano, possano essere dotate di infrastrutture per il decollo economico dell’intero territorio».
THE PROVINCE OF SALERNO MEETS EUROPE
Yesterday, at the palace of Saint Agostino, the first institutional meeting between the President of the Province of Salerno, Edmondo Cirielli, and the Euro MP Erminia Mazzoni, on the subject of "Territorial development and European funds".
In the presence of the many local administrators, the On. Mazzoni announced that Salerno has been proposed for the establishment of the Secretariat General Euromed.
"The South can not be cut out of development policies financed by EU - said the On. Mazzoni - especially Salerno, which has a natural vocation to host a reality of that type and needs a different focus.
Through cross-cutting action related to the new structure Euromed we can aim at a greater involvement of the countries in the Southern shores in the decision-making process".
President Cirielli stressed his commitment to “turning the correct synergies for the province of Salerno to perform its function in wide areas of Campania and so that the peripheral areas of the province, such as the Cilento and Vallo di Diano, can also be equipped with infrastructures for the economic take-off of the entire territory”.
